About SUBurban

▪ Since July 2001
▪ When I'm not working at Volvo or taking care of my family. Or play, myself.
|
▪ Wherever I lay my hat... |
SUBurban™ finds its task in supplying performing musicians with tools of the highest quality in all available price and performance classes.
("Performing musicians" are those who play an instrument, including voice.)
▪ SUBurban™ promotes the represented manufacturers towards shops and sells equipment directly to musicians via Internet.
▪ Direct sales are done under the same conditions as a shop is expected to apply.
It is always best to buy things close to home. That simplifies contacts, it means better service at most times, and minimizes the risk that you buy the wrong item. Hence, I don't want to compete with shops by setting the direct sales prices too low. Any money I take in "extra" this way, is used to find new products, perhaps also to better the shop prices?
SUBurban™ also abides by the following principles:
▪ Never in debt!
▪ Low stock values (build to order).
▪ No overhead cost.
▪ Short transports.
▪ Direct contact with musicians.
▪ Maximal visibility per marketing investment.
In short: low costs, to keep low prices, for good stuff.
|
▪
Instruments and equipment of the highest quality in every
price class. ▪ The first effort aims at basses and guitars, acoustic and amplified, and equipment for such. ▪ The second wave may continue in stringed instruments, or bring in a brass instrument range. That's not clear yet (work slow and get it right the first time, right?). ▪ Third wave? Well, who knows?

Well, that's a question! Prepare for a novel, or quit reading now!
Once, now rather long ago, I got music as a welcome gift from Jesus Christ. That is: I got the understanding of how much more music holds, than just entertainment. It became a major part of the fuel that keeps me alive, and both played and sang a great deal, in many different constellations and venues for a long time. Eventually, other things entered my life, and as family grew during the nineties, time for music diminished. To reach an all time low in the last years of the last millennium.
Then what about SUBurban™? Well, it started with myself hunting for a good bass, as I had restarted my "career" after several years' intermission. A gospel choir had been formed in our church, that needed a bass player. I happened to mention my history with such, and there it restarted!
Unfortunately, I had sold off my unfretted Ibanez Roadster, which I really liked, after all years of inactivity when it was a major dust collector in the closet. So I needed an instrument.
After lots of searching trough the Internet, I had found numerous manufacturers of interest, even great interest. By the way, the traditionalists like Fender and Yamaha were never appealing to me. I can do better myself, with minor effort! (There's "sticking out ones neck" for you! ;-) ) But there are many, many good products that have never been introduced in Scandinavia.
During this quest I stumbled over BassLab. Oopsy-daisy, that's exciting, I thought, and sent them an e-mail: a/ can I test one? b/ are you represented in Sweden?
And the answer came: a/ sure, coming soon; b/ no, do you want to be?
After some thinking and discussing, and of course testing (wow!), that was a fact.
As time flew by, I investigated the possibilities to take in more products, of different kinds and price levels. More will come, eventually (SUBurban™ is always characterized by this: fast service, but the rest can take its time, and become great).
I can also mention that for me, restarting to play music and commencing SUBurban™ was the road back from a "burnout". Others do things like mountain climbing. I played music and built a business. There are ways for everybody!
Finally, I hope that you find the way, so you reach the goal scot-free.
Curious about what gear I use? Most are...
